As passenger car ownership continues to rise across Asia and Europe, aftermarket demand has grown noticeably for brake pads that cover both ceramic and semi-metallic materials. Suppliers have recently expanded their reference ranges for Changan, Great Wall, Chery, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, as well as Audi, BMW, Benz, Cadillac, Chevrolet and Buick models, allowing distributors to cover more vehicles with less inventory.

Ceramic brake pads are known for low dust, quiet operation and stable braking feel, making them suitable for urban commuting and family cars. Semi-metallic pads perform more strongly under high-temperature conditions and are often used on mountain roads, in frequent braking situations or with heavier loads. Producers say offering both materials side by side helps repair shops and parts dealers respond flexibly to the actual working conditions of different customer groups. In terms of packaging, products are categorized by reference number and axle position for quick picking and installation. The industry expects that as mixed fleets continue to expand, the coverage of dual-material product lines will keep extending further.
